IACS is pleased to announce it has been shortlisted in the Community Engagement category at the Hydrogen UK Awards 2026.
This award recognises projects and companies that actively engage and benefit local communities through hydrogen solutions.
For IACS, who last year acquired Hydrogen Safe, the training specialist delivering courses, qualifications and bespoke e-modules in hydrogen safety, this nomination highlights its commitment to increasing awareness and understanding of hydrogen.
Following its multi-million-pound investment in its pioneering apprenticeship, the ‘Practitioner in Pipelines for Hydrogen and Utilities’ (PIPHU), it also demonstrates the company’s commitment to building skills, confidence and careers for the next generation of pipeline inspectors who will work safely and confidently with hydrogen.
James Baker, Operations Manager at IACS, comments:
“Receiving this nomination marks a very special start to 2026 - not just for our team but our partners at Hydrogen Safe who have also been shortlisted in two categories.
“For several years we have been working hard to support the skills gaps that are impacting our industry. As part of this, we made it our mission to future proof our inspectors, equipping them with the skills to work confidently and safely around hydrogen.
“This has helped us expand our talented team and make a real difference towards the energy transition through our partnership with Hydrogen Safe. We are proud to be helping build careers, develop knowledge, and promote safety across the sector and this shortlist is a real recognition of that work.”
The Hydrogen UK Awards 2026 will take place on Tuesday 10th March 2026 at Birmingham NCC, celebrating the organisations that drive innovation, collaboration, and positive impact within the hydrogen sector, making a significant impact.
Founded over 25 years ago, IACS has grown into a leading consultancy specialising in pipeline inspection, engineering, and non-destructive testing (NDT).
