IACS Training & Education is celebrating the news that its innovative partnership with Hopwood Hall College and University Centre, has been acknowledged at the prestigious Educate North Awards.
Let the celebrations begin…
Hopwood Hall College and University Centre has been named as a finalist within the Business Engagement Employer Award (HE/FE) category, for its work with IACS Training & Education and in helping to develop the pioneering ‘Practitioner in Pipelines for Hydrogen and Utilities’ Apprenticeship (PIPHU), which includes the UK’s first Ofqual registered qualification in hydrogen safety.
About the category…
The category recognises higher or further education institutions that are building quality partnerships to benefit the region and its people. In the case of IACS T&E and the PIPHU Apprenticeship, the impact moves beyond people and place to addressing the skills gap in the industry and the evolving hydrogen economy.
A pioneering partnership…
“When IACS Ltd first approached us, they explained how the lack of skilled pipeline inspectors could impede the green transition. Importantly they also revealed their vision for investing in a new generation of pipeline inspectors, one that would not only address the existing skills gap but support the rapidly evolving hydrogen economy - we knew that we had the skills and infrastructure to support them.
“This is both a pioneering partnership and programme that will result in highly paid, highly skilled inspectors who are equipped to support the green economy. To have this acknowledged through our shortlist at the Educate North Awards makes us hugely proud.”
Collaborating and creating partnerships…
James Baker, Director of IACS T&E, comments:
“Collaboration and partnership are at the heart of the IACS Pipeline Apprenticeship. This is why we are thrilled to see Hopwood Hall College and University Centre named as a finalist in the Business Engagement Employer Award (HE/FE) category at the Educate North Awards.
“This is an amazing endorsement and it is a great feeling to be partnered with a college that is recognised on such a prestigious stage. Good luck Hopwood. We have everything crossed for the awards!”
Not one, not two, not three but FOUR nominations…
Not only has Hopwood Hall College and University Centre been shortlisted in the Business Engagement, Employer Award (HE/FE) category, but it has also been recognised and shortlisted in three other categories. These categories include the Community Engagement Award (HE/FE) category, the Diversity, Equality and Inclusion Award category and, to much of the college’s excitement, the Further Education College of the Year category.
